Hitsa stands for the Information Technology Foundation for Education, ad is a not-for profit organisation that has been established by a number of institutions. The aim of the organisation to make sure graduates are exposed to the right digital skills and that those technologies are used effectively in teaching. There are two further points that are outlined on their website:

Hitsa seem to be very situated in the context of Estonia, and its relationship to digitised society. The fact that Estonia as a nation has a lot of services digitised, and that the one of the five strategic points for Lifelong Learning in Estonia is digital focus, means that there is a great need for organisations who ensure the quality and standard of these activities. Hitsa are one of these and are even partly responsible for the Digital Focus Program, which aims to create a comprehensive approach to digital competencies.

Hitsa run educational programmes, have a innovation centre and administers various ICT services used by educational institutions.
